Research Center of Information Security
The discipline of information security, as a secondary subject of the first discipline of Information and Communication Engineering, began to establish in 2003 and has already set up the master and doctor program. The Research Center of Information Security of Southeast University is established to support this discipline, which co-applied to establish the Key Laboratory of Jiangsu Network and Information Security with School of Computer Science and Engineering in 2005. In recent years, with the strong support of the National “985”, “211” and the construction project of “Jiangsu Advantage Disciplines”, the experiment environment keeps improving and a whole set of mobile communication network experiment and testing platform has been established, strongly supporting the development of this discipline. At present, this discipline is at the leading level in the field of wireless network and mobile communication security.
At present, this discipline is led by Prof. Hu Aiqun and there are 2 professors, 8 associate professors and 6 lecturers, among which 91% own Doctor Degree, 33% once studied abroad and 83% are below 45 years old. There are 7 doctoral students and over 80 postgraduate students right now.
The discipline of Information Security is mainly dedicated to the research on the theories and the technology of mobile communication and wireless network security, which involves many research orientations, such as communication security, content security, trusted computing, access security, terminal security and information regulation.

Recently, this discipline has undertaken over 20 cooperative projects (almost ￥20 million for research) with international and national governments as well as enterprises, such as the National “863” Plan, the projects of National Natural Science Foundation, National Major Special Projects, the Key Research Projects as well as some projects from ministries and commissions. In recent 5 years, 3 national and ministerial scientific and technologic awards have been won, over 200 papers have been published, among which more than 160 papers have been included by SCI and EI and 32 national technologic invention patents have been granted. In the field of wireless network and mobile communication security, a series of practical achievements have been made, such as “Public Wireless LAN Security Access System”, “Mobile Communication Network Regulation System”, “Wireless LAN Equipment Security Assessment System”, “High Precision Wireless Positioning System”, “The Network Emergency Communication Equipment”, “Wireless Sensor Network Security Test Bed”, “Mobile Terminal Secure Communication Device” and “3G Wireless Security Video Surveillance System”, etc.
The goal of this discipline is to improve the quality of the cultivated talents as well as innovate the way of talent training, which helps to form distinctive teaching and cultivating system involving undergraduates, postgraduates, doctors and post doctors. Basic Theories and Application of Network and Information Security, the planning teaching materials of the postgraduate, and Information Security, the excellent teaching materials for the undergraduates, have been taught by many colleges and universities in China. A wide range of academic exchanges have been conducted between China and other countries, and famous experts are also invited to deliver speeches on a regular basis. The theses and papers by many undergraduates have been awarded the best theses by undergraduates in Jiangsu Province and 3 master’s ones have been awarded the best theses by postgraduates. 6 first prizes and 5 second prizes have been obtained by the students with guidance in National Undergraduate Electronic Design Competition—the Information Security Technology Invitational Contest. At the same time, 4 great international awards have been obtained in IEEE Xtreme Programming Competition 4.0.
This discipline has provided high quality technological services for relevant security administration departments in China, at the same time, it has also actively conducted cooperation and exchanges with domestic communication and security manufacturers. To be specific, close cooperative relationships have established successively with Huawei, ZTE, CETC, GrenTech, SkyTech, TopSec, Wellcom Technology, Swan Technology and other domestic enterprises. Many practical achievements have realized industrialization, which obtains sound social benefits and economic returns.
